Today I was on mindlessly surfing the net looking for more video clips on Dilla. I came across a J.Dilla tribute show with Tony Touch that contained freestyles from several notable emcees, one of those MC's being Black Thought [of the Legendary Roots Crew]

This dude rips it for like three minutes straight.  It almost seems like he left out of consciousness for a moment & just let something else take over [maybe the ghost of some underground rapper from the 80's]......so much so that  [i almost s!@#$ my pants] none of the other mc's [q-tip] want to go on after him.

That's when a light came on [Bing!]! The reason why a good free-style is so intriguing and is because it is literally a real time sync between the conscious and subconscious mind.

The Movie Inception touches heavily on dreams consciousness and perception of reality [all subjects included in the study of lucid dreaming]. In the clip you're about to watch, the main character [Leonardo DiCaprio] talks about the dreams, reality & perception, but the concept that stands out is that while dreaming or in that state we are creating and perceiving at the same time .

This directly ties into free-styling because of the "stream of conscious" nature of free-styling. Writing rhymes down allows you to correct, perfect, erase or do over, however when free-styling, there are no do overs and very little time to "consciously" think about what you are saying.  In essence, you think of what you're going to say NANOSECONDS before saying it, almost as your subconscious is doing the thinking. Thereby controlling an unconscious creation that manifests in real time [LITERALLY BEING IN THE MOMENT]. What is even more amazing is that this is a fundamental skill in an art form that gets negative attention for the perceived lack of skills that is needed to be considered an art form by the music community at large.
I hope this post helps you see the connection and take time to understand more about "Inception [ both the movie and the physiological phenomenon] PIECE------------------------> Enoch's Light
